The delicate patterning in this elegant stone reminds me of a feathers on a bird's wing. It is in fact, a piece of ancient tree which took a long slumber millions of years ago in the cozy Earth. Minerals slowly seeped in through underwater streams, replacing the wood cellulose with silica and minerals. I've framed this ancient beauty in a hand-cut feathered frame, textured and patina'd the backplate to give it a sense of floating. The clean geometry of the design strikes the right balance with the Earthiness of the stone. All sterling silver with fine silver bezel. 18" sterling box chain included, $35 upgrade for the wide omega chain. (shown on 18" box chain and 16" omega chain). I love a well-worn, well-lived-in piece, but some care should be taken to protect the Earth made stone in your jewelry.
- remove before bathing, swimming, or exercising
- avoid submerging in water
- keep free from chemicals, abrasives, pressure and high heat
- avoid ultrasonic cleaners
- slow the tarnishing of silver by keeping it in an air tight place
- polish silver, when desired, with a Sunshine polishing cloth (included)
- if needed, clean with mild soap, water and a soft cloth (without submerging)
- Ivory Creek Variscite can change color if exposed to oils, lotions or other liquids
